Tuneful, beatful, artful
These are the three characteristics that I and many other music educators believe lie within each student. In music class, we pull out and refine these traits through singing, playing instruments, dancing, reading music, discussing the history of music, as well as reading music. Much of what is done in this music classroom is based on the Kodaly method of music education, by which students learn musical concepts through singing first, then through other musical means. For more information on the Kodaly method, check out this page from the Organization of Kodaly Educators.

"Real art is one of the most powerful forces in the rise of mankind, and he who renders it accessible to as many people as possible is a benefactor of humanity."
